This is a view from the rear corner. The Gray Slate siding contrasts well with the Arctic White trim. Crown headers are an excellent way to add detail to windows and doors. Hardie installation instructions require horizontal flashing installed above the windows. Many siding contractors don't follow this detail which can void the Hardie 30 year warranty.
This image shows a closer look at the window detail. The windows are framed with 4" Hardie trim with a sill located at the bottom. A 3.25" crown molding header was installed at the top to create depth. The header detail extends past the vertical trim 1" on each side. The Arctic White trim creates an appealing contrast to the Gray Slate Siding. An 8" frieze board with crown molding was installed below the overhang. Ask your siding contactor what details will make your house stand out.
