OVERVIEW
This Gaithersburg, MD home is located in the Kentlands neighborhood. The homeowner wanted a complete transformation!
It had existing Masonite Lap Siding with Cedar Shingle roofing. The home was experiencing extreme siding deterioration around the windows, doors, and siding corners. The Cedar Shingle roof had warping and uplifts around the edges and garage. The neighborhood HOA requires all siding replacements to be done with Hardie siding. Custom Concepts Construction Inc was hired as the siding contractor to install new Hardie Beaded Lap Siding in Boothbay Blue on the exterior of the home. We redesigned two front gables adding Straight Edge Hardie Shingle accent siding in Light Mist. This added style and contrast to the architectural design. Along with the siding, we resurfaced the front and rear porch with Zuri decking products. The wooden railings were replaced with Colonial Style PVC. The front entry door was replaced with a Provia Signet Series Door. Not only are these changes low maintenance, but also gives this home outstanding curb appeal. Here you can see an up close picture of the smooth beaded lap siding. The existing foundation was painted to match the Boothbay Blue. Sherwin Williams has the Hardie siding colors in their color selection. Be sure to hire an Elite Preferred James Hardie Siding contractor to ensure the success of your siding project. Many siding contractors don't have the proper training to install this product correctly.
Both the front and rear porches have tongue & grooved beaded Mahogany ceilings. The back of the home showcases a two level deck. New beams and PVC columns were installed on both decks. The framing was repaired for structural reasons. All of the trim was replaced. James Hardie lap siding was installed on the rear of this Gaithersburg home. The bay windows have siding accents inHardie Shingle.
The original wooden railings and columns were replaced with PVC materials to closely match the existing detail. The colonial style columns give the front porch and entrance way an enriched welcoming feeling. We installed Light Mist Straight Edge Hardie Shingles on the porch gables. These details held differentiate this home from others in the neighborhood. The ceilings were replaced with stain grade Mahogany.
Black fiberglass shutters were installed to complete the new look.
As the siding contractor, Custom Concepts Construction Inc. replaced the homes existing Masonite siding with James Hardie Beaded Lap Siding. The siding color chosen is Boothbay Blue. Light Mist Hardie Shingle panels were added as an accent in the gables and other locations. All of the existing trim on the house was replaced with Arctic White Hardie Trim. Crown headers were installed above the windows. Vented Hardie soffits were installed to correct the attic ventilation.
