Here is a closer look at how the Hardie siding connects to the roof. There is a 2" clearance between the siding and the roofing. Arctic White trim coil was used as an additional layer of flashing. This is more aesthetically pleasing than exposing the black step flashing. These small details can have a huge impact on the final product. Failing to install Hardie siding with proper clearances can void their warranty.
