This home in Germantown, MD had existing stucco on the front of the home. The sides and rear siding were vinyl. All of the existing roof line trim was painted wood. After years of maintenance the existing roof line trim was rotting from moist conditions. The trees on the property were blocking the sunlight. The existing vinyl siding had severely warped in several areas. Once this type of vinyl siding damage has occurred, it is nearly impossible to get an accurate color match. The moist conditions also created mold and mildew growth on a significant amount of the vinyl siding. After researching siding products, this client decided to have James Hardie installed on their home. James Hardie siding is resistant to mold and mildew. It is also extremely durable and requires minimal maintenance. All of the existing vinyl siding and wood trim was removed. The sheathing surface was inspected prior to installing James Hardie house wrap. The client selected Hardiplank in Navajo Beige as their siding color. The trim color shown is Arctic White. The window trim detail selected is a picture frame made of brickmould with a sub sill at the bottom. All of the roof line trim was replaceed with James Hardie fiber cement trim. It is very important to select a siding contractor on the James Hardie Contractor Alliance Program.
